@xenia-test love both ideas! The design is on the canvas first, so you can poke at it before anything is built:
-
Formatting toolbar: it sits on top of the text box, with a gloss strip of buttons:
- bold, italic, strikethrough, heading
- link, attach image, @mention
- quote, code, spoiler
- bulleted, numbered and task lists
- table
Select some text and a button wraps it; with nothing selected it inserts a template. On phones the toolbar scrolls sideways in one row.
-
One reusable editor: the same component goes into the reply and new-thread boxes, post editing, About me and Signature. Signatures get a compact toolbar and a live byte counter (x / 1024 bytes), so no more surprise rejections.
-
Inline images: each chosen or pasted file gets an Insert in post button. It drops a placeholder into your text where your cursor is, and when you post, the server swaps in the real image link. Everything you don't insert still shows below the post as now.
There's also a nicer "Choose files" button, instead of the browser's plain grey one. :3
